The House is set to take up Gunn's "Child Protection Act" this afternoon that would criminalize what he did in molestation case

The House is currently preparing to take up HB 16, which has been covered here before.  This will be the first legislation of any weight to be taken up by the House this year.  It will provide observers with an opportunity to see how the new Republican regime will handle floor debates going forward.

Although Speaker Philip Gunn is the bill's author, Judiciary B Chairman Andy Gipson will handle the bill on the floor, reportedly.

Upon taking the podium to handle the bill, Mr. Gipson will immediately have more floor experience than our speaker.
