This was the most pointed jab I've seen Dennis take, and he is essentially accusing Bryant of selling his support for a plan to raid the BP recovery fund in order to help a campaign contributor. You can view the video here. I'm surprised this isn't getting more attention. Last Wednesday, Dave Dennis promised that he was going to become more aggressive in the race. He wasn't kidding.

***BREAKING*** - Dave Dennis clobbers Phil Bryant on the Miss America contribution
According to a WLOX story that slipped by me late last week, Republican gubernatorial candidate Dave Dennis went after Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant at a Republican luncheon on the Coast over the Sam Haskell-Miss America mess. (See Phil Bryant, Miss America, and $10,000 and the update to that story.).

Johnny DuPree hosting forum on education and jobs in Gulfport tonight
Tonight at 6:30 p.m., Hattiesburg Mayor and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Johnny DuPree will be hosting a forum entitled “Making Mississippi First: A Conversation on Jobs and Education.” It will be held at the Good Deeds Community Center at 15101 Madison St., Gulfport, MS. From his press release:
I wonder how many folks will bring up the Miss America pageant as a jobs panacea?
We face many challenges in Mississippi, many that must be dealt with at the same time. This is why we are hosting conversations with elected officials, community leaders, and the people of Mississippi on the issues we face and how we will work together to solve our problems.
Please join us for “Making Mississippi First: A Conversation on Jobs and Education.”
For far too long, state leaders have ignored the voices of the people, denying the opportunity for common-sense approaches from Mississippians like you.
I wonder how many folks will bring up the Miss America pageant as a jobs panacea?
