Yesterday, Republican lobbyist Hayes Dent bet Mississippi Democratic Party Chairman Rickey Cole (who is from Ovett, MS) "a really good dinner" over whether or not state senator Chris McDaniel (R - Ellisville) would win the Republican nomination for US Senate next year. (Both Ovett and Ellisville are in Jones County.) Sen. Thad Cochran (R) is the incumbent, and McDaniel is his brash Tea Party challenger.

Cole's response is one for the annals of Mississippi politics:
