We reported earlier this week that Speaker Philip Gunn (R-Clinton) linked his political and campaign donation page through the state legislature's website.
After being caught with his hand in the cookie jar, Gunn removed the link. His "Learn More About the Speaker" link now directs visitors to Gunn's member information page.
This isn't the first time Gunn has been up to something fishy. Earlier this year, Gunn hosted a private, after-hours dinner in the state Capitol with top GOP fundraisers and a member of the state Ethics Commission. Following that dinner, the aforementioned Ethics Commission member cast a vote on the Commission to help Gunn deliver Republican votes during the Medicaid special session.
We will see how Speaker Gunn uses his office next.
