Molly Parker of the C-L covers Reeves' recusal

Here's a link to an article in today's Clarion-Ledger written by Molly Parker about Judge Carlton Reeves' recusal, Judge Tom Lee becoming the third judge on the case, and the recent dust-up over Lt. Gov. Bryant's comments to Republican senators concerning Chief Judge Edith Jones.

It's a good article, and the part on Lt. Gov. Bryant's comments is interesting, I think:
Earlier this month, Bryant acknowledged he privately told Republicans the chief judge of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals was nominated while Gov. Haley Barbour was serving in the Reagan White House.

But Bryant denied he said or insinuated Chief Judge Edith Jones, in making appointments to that panel, would "take care of" legislative Republicans, as stated by a Democrat-friendly blog.

...

Bryant said he mentioned that information to ease fears from GOP lawmakers about Reeves' potential role in the case.

Hmmmmmmm.....

It appears as though some Republicans, perhaps including Lt. Gov. Bryant, feel that federal judges are subject to the whims of politics. I do not believe that to be true. Choggs, I can assure you that Chief Judge Edith Jones has no reason of which I am aware to recuse herself from this matter.

Cottonmouth, if all the Senators were deposed then they must have colaborated his statements. Case closed. Governor Bryant deserves an apology. (:

Choggs, there has been no discovery in NAACP v. Barbour, et al yet, and therefore no depositions. If and when depositions take place, the senators will not corroborate Lt. Gov. Bryant's statements to the media.

Your reputation Eichelberger takes another hit:

"Choggs, there has been no discovery in NAACP v. Barbour, et al yet, and therefore no depositions. If and when depositions take place, the senators will not corroborate Lt. Gov. Bryant's statements to the media."

But less than a week ago you reported

" ... word is spreading at the Capitol of plans to depose each and every Republican senator regarding the meeting.

A request for subpoenas is reportedly imminent
."

Then, of course, you gave all this breathless "breaking" tweet:

***BREAKING*** - Capitol sources: GOP senators to be deposed over Bryant meeting

So tell us Matt. How many GOP Senators have been served?
