***BREAKING*** House redistricting plan passes committees without opposition

1:53 p.m. - The House redistricting plan has passed the subcommittee and Joint Committee.  It now goes before the House committee before being taken up by the full House on Friday. NOT A SINGLE VOTE AGAINST SO FAR.

2:16 p.m. - Emily Wagster-Pettus pens an AP article. Rep. Jim Ellington (R-Raymond) saw his district collapsed into Jackson-area districts.  Reps. Ferr Smith (D-Carthage) and Mary Ann Stevens (D-West) are now in the same district.

2:20 p.m. - Full House committee has voted.  One dissenting vote was Rep. Jim Evans (D-Jackson).
