And another Personhood-esque bill, this one from Rep. Alex Monsour (R - Vicksburg)

Here comes Rep. Alex Monsour (R - Vicksburg) with something titled "The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act", which seeks to limit abortion well inside the bounds currently established by the United States Supreme Court.  One of the interesting things about this bill is that it was written "by request", and that is noted on at the top of the bill.  Of course, we don't know who made the request.

Also, this bill has been referred to House Judiciary B, which is chaired by Rep. Andy Gipson (R - Braxton).  Gipson is the principal author of HCR 61, which seeks to circumvent the will of the people of Mississippi on the Personhood issue.

This has gone from "Republican end run around Personhood's failure" to "all-out Republican assault on Mississippi voters."  Unreal.
