28 Months and Counting

Last week, Republicans celebrated ten years of "tort reform" which they claimed would be a driver for economic growth in Mississippi. While the fat cats were patting each other on the back for being masters of the universe, they must have ignored the reports showing Mississippi's unemployment rate hovering around 7.5 percent. This makes Mississippi the state with the sixth highest unemployment rate in the country and the highest unemployment rate in the deep South. Additionally, for his entire term as governor, Phil Bryant has presided over a state with unemployment over 7 percent!

Republicans said "tort reform" and preventing unionization was key to driving economic growth in Mississippi, but that has not turned out to be the case. Bryant and the Republicans are running out of time and excuses.
