Bill Allain has passed
The Clarion-Ledger is reporting former Gov. Bill Allain's death this morning. Allain, a Democrat, left quite a mark on state government, having served as both Attorney General and later, Governor. As Governor, Allain appointed the first African-American Supreme Court Justice, Reuben Anderson. As Attorney General, he successfully sued to have legislators removed from state agency boards, strengthening the executive branch.
