GOP Vultures Continue to Circle

With less than a week to go until Sen. Thad Cochran is expected to make up his mind about running for another six-year term to the United States Senate, another Republican is publicly declaring his desire to run.

State Auditor, and guy you have probably never heard of, Stacy Pickering (R) made it clear that he plans to jump into the primary should Cochran step aside. In recent months, Pickering has hired former top aides of the state Republican Party. It was easy to conclude that Pickering was up to something.

In the article, Pickering noted that he has had conversations with the incumbent about his desire to run. One has to imagine that Cochran must feel mighty proud to know that there are so many ambitious politicians waiting in the wings for him to call it a day.
