The Learmonth decision is out, in which the Mississippi Supreme Court was asked by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit to determine whether or not statutory caps on damages are constitutional.
In an 8-1 decision written by Justice Mike Randolph, the Mississippi Supreme Court declined to answer the question, leaving the caps in place and drawing a stinging rebuke from Justice Jess Dickinson in his dissent. I'll link it when I can.
