The Sun-Herald is reporting that Joseph Goff, who was cut lose early from prison by Gov. Haley Barbour (R), is back in jail after being arrested for driving drunk.
Goff was sentenced to 20 years for killing 19 year-old Kyle Todd of Gautier. According to the article, Goff was given 180 days off of his sentence by Barbour as a reward for helping to clean up after Hurricane Katrina. My search of the Secretary of State's list, however, does not show Goff as being a recipient of relief from Barbour. Hopefully more will come to light about this.
*UPDATE at 10:59* - This report from the Sun-Herald appears to be a bit misleading. Here's a post that attempts to clear things up.
