Gov. Barbour in 2009: Look at cutting PERS benefits

Here's an interesting find from a loyal reader. In his FY2011 Budget Letter, Gov. Haley Barbour said the following:

To ensure pension sustainability, consideration should be given to modifying the current benefit structure, including accrual rates and automatic cost­ of­ living adjustments, for current and prospective state employees.

Still think Republicans won't decimate PERS if they gain control of the House? Mighty big gamble to take there....
