Todd Wade gives up his fight, Sen. Gray Tollison (D-Oxford) wins another term
In a press release emailed at 5:00 p.m. today, former Republican State Senate candidate Todd Wade officially ended his fight to return to the ballot in time for the November elections. Wade was removed from the ballot by the State Election Commission after no evidence could be shown that he had ever been registered to vote prior to September of 2009. State law requires one to be registered to vote in Mississippi for 4 years prior to standing election for the Mississippi Senate or House. Incumbent Sen. Gray Tollison (D-Oxford) will now retain his seat without opposition. (It is likely Tollison would have held this seat anyway, but it's always nice to do it without opposition.)
